Farmers block motorway again

Farmers of Armavir province’s communities affected by the recent hail have again blocked Armavir-Margara Motorway, according to reliable sources of Aysor.am. The press reported that people are thus trying to prevent employees of ACBA Credit Agricole bank from entering their villages and collecting interest on agricultural loans from the debtors.

Head of the agricultural unit of Arvavir regional administration Arthur Aivazian told Ayor.am that he is unaware of the actions of bank employees, the roads are not blocked, while they together with the Deputy Minister of Agriculture Garnik Petrosian visit local communities and advise farmers how to cultivate the land and for that reason crowds gathered there.

Spokesman of ACBA Credit Agricole Bank Harutyun Pohosian told Aysor.am that the information does not correspond to reality. Our question about the number of the bank’s borrowers in Armavir province remained unanswered.
