“Parties not making part of government are opposition”

“The statement to the effect that Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) is not opposition was made by Gagik Tsarukian, it does not represent the official position of the party,” political commentator Petros Ghazarian told RFE/RL Armenian Service.

“The fact that BHK leader did not attend the president’s inauguration says much more than all those rumors,” Ghazarian stressed. In his words, BHK criticizes the prime minister who has been appointed by the Armenian president.

“BHK did not enter the coalition, nor did Gagik Tsarukian attend the inauguration, and so on. This speaks of the party’s opposition character,” the political commentator noted.

According to him, all those political forces that do not make part of the government are opposition.
