Armen Martirosian: By accepting mandates, we don’t legitimize elections
I don’t think that by accepting our mandates in the Yerevan Council of Elders, we legitimize the elections. The deputy chairman of Heritage Party Armen Martirosian, who tops the list of Hello Yerevan bloc of parties’ list of candidates to Yerevan Council of Elders, expressed this opinion at a meeting with reporters today.
“We have no choice but to struggle and use our levers to solve the problems. People trusted us and we should justify their trust,” Armen Martirosian said, adding that Hello Yerevan bloc is going to be a restrictive link in the Yerevan Council.
“We will be the only opposition force there and we should represent both the society and the other opposition forces that did not win seats in the Council,” Heritage Party’s deputy chairman stated.
As regards the May 5 elections to Yerevan Council of Elders, A. Martirosian said those elections were much worse than the presidential and parliamentary elections.
“These elections were ten steps backward compared with the previous two elections,” Martirosian said.
