Andrias Ghukasian: Fake party system has had its day
There is a political and economic crisis in the country, the former presidential candidate Andrias Ghukasian said at the meeting with reporters today.
He expressed an opinion a critical atmosphere exists in society and it may result in serious clashes.
The speaker noted that new parties should join the ranks of the opposition. “New approaches to party building are necessary. New competitive forces should be set up”.
Ghukasian announced he plans to found a new party by late 2013, but will not head it.
“I myself hold social democratic views and believe that such a force is absent. The rights of working people are not protected. I think this gap should be filled up,” A. Ghukasian stated.
In his opinion, the fake party system has had its day and “the parties continuously show their feebleness”.
“We have the problem of fake opposition. These are all forces, which contributed to holding fake elections. New approaches are needed in party building. New competitive forces should be set up. It is impossible to achieve success without democratic principles,” Ghukasian said.
