Farmers agree to open Armavir-Yerevan Highway until Thursday

Hailstorm-hit farmers of Armavir province agreed to open Armavir-Yerevan Highway after Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetian met with them and promised to submit their demands to the government on Thursday. One of the protesters, a resident of Alashkert village told this to Aysor.am.

“The agriculture minister and the prim minister promised to raise our problem at the government session on Thursday, but we want a special session to be called and the problem to be solved as soon as possible,” the protester said. In his words, nevertheless, farmers agreed to wait until the regular session of the government and they opened the highway.

We would remind you that farmers of 46 communities in Armavir province incurred losses because of a hailstorm on May 12. Farmers demand that the government compensate them for their losses and freeze bank loans.
