Hovik Abrahamian to transfer his monthly salary to hailstorm-hit farmers

The parliamentary speaker Hovik Abrahamian will transfer his monthly salary to hailstorm-hit farmers of Armavir province in Armenia.

Abrahamian made that announcement following the speech of Alexan Petrosian (Mapi Alik), the parliamentary deputy elected from Armavir province, who spoke about the situation in the agricultural province hit by hail and proposed opening a bank account for donations to help Armavir farmers.

The speaker of the Armenian parliament called on other MPs to join his initiative.

In response to the speaker’s statement, the secretary of Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) faction Naira Zohrabian asked if the government would take any actions. Hovik Abrahamian replied that the government will also provide assistance.

HHK deputy Alexan Petrosian said that the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education and Science should submit proposals about discounts on tuition fees and medical services for hailstorm-hit farmers in Armavir province.
