Former deputy head of Nubarashen penal institution arrested

David Muradian, former deputy head of Nubarashen penal institution of Armenia’s Ministry of Justice, has been arrested within the framework of a criminal case investigated by the Special Investigation Service of Armenia.

D. Muradian is suspecting of taking a bribe in particularly large amounts. Investigators ascertained that from February to December 2012, the former deputy head of Nubarashen penal institution David Muradian demanded and took bribes of $14,000 for early release of convict Artak Hakobian. Besides, D. Muradian bought 540,000 AMD worth of furniture through Hakobian’s friends.

An investigation is underway.
