Armenia never demands international community support only its position

The Nagorno Karabakh conflict was officially discussed neither at the Council of Europe nor the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe as these structures do not have such mandates, but we are grateful for interest that these structures and other international organizations show in the OSCE Minsk Group’s work aimed at finding solutions to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement. Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian made this statement today at the meeting of the PACE Standing Committee in Yerevan. He thanked European structures for their assistance with the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement.

“No conflict in the world has been raised to such a high level,” Nalbandian stated, adding that Armenia welcomes all the statements adopted and is ready to participate in the conflict settlement on that basis.

“The Armenian side has never demanded that the international community support only its position. We anticipate the international community’s assistance which is reflected in these statements. Such real assistance will help find a peaceful solution,” Edward Nalbandian said, adding that the Armenian side also expects a similar approach from Azerbaijan.

In response to a question about the extent of the compromise Armenia is ready to make, Edward Nalandian restated hat Yerevan’s position is fully in line with that of the international community.
