Car on Vedi-Sisavan highway falls into canal

Ministry of Emergency Situations received a call at 6:16 pm yesterday that a man was injured in a car accident on Vedi-Sisavan highway.

A rescue crew of the MES was sent to the scene, the press service of the ministry reported.

A Mitsubishi Pajero skidded off the highway and fell into the Artashat canal. The driver, A Khachatrian, 48, received numerous injuries. He was taken to the hospital of the city of Vedi and later transported to Erebuni medical Center in Yerevan. Doctors say he is in a grave condition.

The rescuers and policemen pulled the car out of the canal.
