President: Due legal assessment will be given to all actions

Hetq online newspaper today asked the spokesman for Armenian president Arman Saghatelian to express the president’s position regarding the recent incident outside the house of Surik Khachatrian, the governor of Synik Province.

“Surik Khachatrian said, “I decided to resign as governor prior to the end of the preliminary investigation and I have already received consent of the superior body”. At the same time we asked to indicate the legal grounds, on which the governor’s application for temporary suspension of his duties was satisfied”.

“The Armenian president has repeatedly stated about the inadmissibility of attempts to solve issues from the position of strength and the incontestability of equality before the law. The Armenian president is convinced today that the objectivity and comprehensiveness of the investigation into the case will be ensured and a due legal assessment will be given to actions of all the persons involved in the incident.

As regards the second part of your question, you should address it to the competent body,” the president’s spokesman said.
