Karabakh war veterans agree to meet with prime minister in month

A meeting of Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan with a group of Karabakh war veterans took place today. One of the meeting participants, Volodya Avetisian, told Aysor.am that their problems caused the prime minister’s concern.

“We discussed the situation in detail, the prime minister was concerned. We explained that the situation in the country is explosive and we are ready to help,” Avetisian noted. In his words, a decision was made to meet again in a month.

“The prime minister proposed meeting again in a month so as to examine the situation in the meantime and make the necessary calculations. We understand that the matter concerns large sums. Today we estimated the number of Karabakh war veterans in Armenia. Besides, the problem is that many men who did not fight in the war have been registered as veterans,” V. Avetisian said.
Asked whether veterans are satisfied with the prime minister’s answers, Volodya Avetisian noted:

“We have not yet talked with out comrades-in-arms. We will go to Liberty Square, have a discussion and then make a decision. In any event, we are not going to end our struggle. We will continue our protests this month”.

We would remind you that following yesterday’s protest action of veterans outside the Armenian government, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan decided to meet with them and discuss their problems.
