Dismantlement done on Closed Market site today

Staff of Yerevan Municipality’s Urban Development Department today did dismantlement on the site of the Closed Market in downtown Yerevan, the press service of the municipality said. According to the department head Hayk Asatrian, the work was done to hinder construction of a multi-story building there.

The concrete columns whose construction distorted the market dimensions have been taken down today. In accordance with a procedure, the municipality warned the developer about the planned dismantlement. Hayk Asatrian also said that the municipality has never discussed and will not discuss approval of an urban development document on construction of a multi-story building on the site of the Closed Market.
