Yerevan Mayor officially assumes office

The inauguration of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margarian was held in the Yerevan Municipality today. “I swear that I will faithfully perform the duties of the mayor of Yerevan, observe the Constitution and the laws, implement decisions of the Yerevan Council of Elders, and act for the benefit of society,” Taron Мargarian stated.

Honorary Citizen of Yerevan, member of Yerevan Council of Elders Martin Vardazarian handed a special decoration – the “mayoral chain” from the Yerevan History Museum to Taron Margarian. 

The ceremony was attended by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, the National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamian, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, Chairman of the Constitutional Court Gagik Harutyunian, and other guests.
