Karabakh war veterans receive same status as servicemen
At the session today, the government approved the bills on making additions to the Law on the Status of Yerkrapah Volunteer and the Law on Social Security of Servicemen and Their Family Members.
Submitted the package of bills, Deputy Defense Minister of Armenia Ara Nazarian said that by the bills, Yerkrapah volunteers are given the same status as servicemen and receive the privileges and guarantees stipulated by the law.
It is noteworthy that the matte concerns those veterans of the Karabakh war who participated in military operations for at least three months, regardless of whether they are members of the Yerkrapah Union of Volunteers or not.
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan said for his part that the legislative package is the first step aimed at specifying status of Karabakh war veterans.
