Armen Gevorgian: Such legislative initiative by government is improper
During the special sitting of Armenia’s National Assembly today, the head of Heritage parliamentary faction Ruben Hakobian asked Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgian if the government intends to put forward a legislative initiative to start criminal proceedings against the officials who committed abuses revealed during the checks of the Control Chamber.
Armen Gevorgian replied that such a legislative initiative by the government would be improper because “the Control Chamber shall control the government’s activities, but I would propose that deputies give solutions to recent years’ problems and the government join that work”.
Ruben Hakobian urged the government to publicize the names of those persons and companies, which – according to the Control Chamber’s report – had been considered the winners before tenders were held in construction sector.
Armen Gevorgian said he cannot provide information about all the sectors.
