Hrayr Tovmasian: It is obvious that final truths not voiced in parliament

Justice Minister Hrayr Tovmasian is not in a hurry to comment on the abuses indicated in the Control Chamber’s report. In his own words, he awaits the completion of the investigation.

The minister told journalists today that a question arises: whether the issue of criminal cases opened or to be opened later should be raised in the parliament. “It is obvious to all of us that the final truths are not voiced here, and sentences are not passed either”.
As for the Control Chamber’s format, the purpose of reports and “erroneous information” in those reports, the minister underlined the need for legislative amendments.

“If there is an impression that the Control Chamber should replace the police, the prosecutor’s office as well as tax bodies and courts, then we should do some work concerning the role and significance of the Control Chamber. The Control Chamber as a major element of efficient management is a necessity for our country,” Tovmasian stressed.

In his words, the circumstance that the Control Chamber’s report is presented at a special sitting of the parliament is conditioned by the fact that the government is ready for open debates.

When asked if there are discrepancies between the Control Chamber’s report and the repots of the ministry, Tovmasian declined to answer the question. He added that he will make a special speech tomorrow.
