Speaker proposes sending Control Chamber report to prosecutor’s office

The speaker of Armenian parliament Hovik Abrahamian proposed today that the RA Control Chamber’s annual report with numerous facts of abuses recorded in it should be sent to the Office of Prosecutor General.

“We consider it inadmissible that after the Control Chamber has revealed such facts, the parliament will keep silence. We propose sending the document to the Prosecutor’s Office so that they will regularly inform the parliament and government about these processes. We must do our best to prevent abuses in the country. We are accountable for our actions and are conscious of it, that is why we are a majority,” H. Abrahamian said.

According to him, cooperation of the parliament, the Control Chamber, the government, and prosecutor’s office and their consistency are essential for eradication of abuses.
