Justice minister brings a piece of wood to parliament

“Even my hairdresser talks about that ill-fated cable,” Justice Minister Hrayr Tovmasian said at the special sitting of the Armenian parliament today.

We would remind you that when giving the annual report earlier, Chairman of the Control Chamber of Armenia Ishkhan Zakarian showed a piece of cable to parliamentary deputies, saying that during the construction of a court building, a meter of such cable was bought for 1,007 AMD, whereas the average price in Armenian markets is only 110 AMD.

Justice Minister Tovmasian brought a piece of wood to the Armenian parliament today. “This is wood, ordinary timber whose market value is 230 thousand AMD. Do you know how much the same builder paid for it? 1,600 AMD. Personally, I take interest only in the final cost of the project. The package price of construction was lower by 15 million AMD. When I buy a suit, I don’t pay attention to its expensive buttons. I buy a suit that is cheaper,” the minister noted.

At the same time he said there is much to be done and “legislative changes are necessary”. “The government will address this subject in the near future,” Hrayr Tovmasian said.
