Suren Khachatrian not inclined to be governor again

“The issue of governors was not discussed by the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK),” the head of HHK parliamentary faction Galust Sahakian told reporters today.

“The situation in the majority of regional administrations is being examined. We have not yet decided which governors should be dismissed. If the results are unsatisfactory, the government will discuss the problem and make a decision,” Sahakian said.

When asked if Suren Khachatrian might assume the post of Syunik regional governor again, taking into account the current delay in appointing a new governor, Galust Sahakian replied: “Suren Khachatrian himself is not inclined to become governor again”.

“The president will appoint a governor when he considers it expedient,” Sahakian explained.
