Armenian president congratulates compatriots on Constitution Day

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan congratulated compatriots on Constitution Day marked on July 5. According to the presidential press service, the president’s statement particularly says:

“To us, July 5th is a historic day indeed. On that day our people made a historic choice. Yet it was also plain to everyone that a democratic, social and legal state cannot be established in a day. It is a long and serious process”.

The president noted that the Constitution of Armenia shall guarantee citizens’ rights and freedoms.

“As a state and society, we are realizing step by step the great goal expressed in our Constitution. Dear compatriots. I congratulate you once again on this important public holiday and wish all of us a state strengthening day by day, the consistent guarantees of human rights and freedoms, and the implementation of the principle of the rule of law in all the areas of social life,” the statement reads.
