Minister: In some places transport fares will increase by 30 AMD
Armenian Minister of Transport and Communication Gagik Beglarian spoke to reporters on Republic Square of Yerevan today.
Beglarian did not say when the public transport fares will increase. He repeated that the increase will be “the minimum possible one”.
“We will hold discussions and calculate the amount of the increase so that it will be the minimum one. Everyone knows that an increase in transport fares is inevitable because of the gas price hike,” Beglarian said.
“It will be to the detriment of the people if transport fares increase fourfold or 67 organizations take to the street. This will not happen. I should say that there will be no rise in fares in some places,” the minister said, adding that in some places the fare will increase by at least 30 AMD, and there will also be places where the increase is going to be larger.
