Henri Reynaud: Armenian-French relations are at high level
“The 224th anniversary of the capture of the Bastille is marked this year. We celebrate Bastille Day as the French National Day on July 14 each year,” French Ambassador to Armenia Henri Reynaud stated at a meeting with reporters today.
He said Bastille Day is a holiday marking the overthrow of the monarchy and the unification of the French people.
In his words, like any other country, Armenia also has its Bastilles to be captured. He noted that reforms are needed not only in Armenia - reforms should be continuous in all countries.
Speaking about Armenian-French relations, Henri Reynaud said that they are at a high level.
He said the political relations are full of content, with mutual visits at the presidential level taking place almost every year.
France also has an active part in the OSCE Minsk Group where it is one of the Co-Chair States, the ambassador said.
As for economic ties between the two countries, Reynaud said that France is one of the biggest investors in Armenia’s economy.
“I hope there will be soon new bilateral initiatives related to economic cooperation, “the French ambassador stated.
