France wants opening of Armenian-Turkish border

“Naturally, Armenia wants to have open borders in all directions. Armenia’s diplomacy is aimed at carrying out this work,” French Ambassador to Armenia Henri Reynaud told journalists today, when commenting on Armenian-Turkish relations.

In his words, the signing of the Armenian-Turkish protocols raised great hopes for the border’s opening, but unfortunately the hopes were not realized.

“It is necessary to ensure that Armenia becomes an open country in all directions. France wants Armenia to regain its status of a crossroads in the South Caucasus,” H. Reynaud stated.
