CEC to set date for by-election in precinct No. 38 in Syunik

A special sitting of the Central Election Commission of Armenia is due at 6:00 pm today. Four issues are on the agenda, the press service of the CEC reported.

The first issue is related to the holding of a by-election under the majority electoral system in electoral precinct No. 38 in Syunik province of Armenia and the approval of the schedule of the events on the by-election’s organization and conduct. The CEC Chairman Tigran Mukuchian is the speaker.

The sitting participants will discuss another three issues relating to elections to local self-government bodies in other communities.

It is noteworthy that during the 2012 parliamentary elections Vahe Hakobian was elected as parliamentary deputy at precinct No. 38. He was recently appointed Syunik regional governor.
