‘Consumer can never be sure that he does not buy expired goods’
A coalition will operate in Armenia: a number of NGOs aiming to ensure food safety, namely Union of Consumers, National Association of Armenia’s Consumers, and Well-Informed and Protected Consumer NGOs have united. Chairman of Union of Consumers Armen Poghosian made that announcement at a meeting with reporters today.
According to the coalition members, consumers should be well-informed and able to protect their interests. The coalition is going to work in provinces as well. Its members will conduct checks, trying to identify problems and find their solutions.
The situation in the sphere is not alarming, but numerous problems exist such as unsatisfactory sales conditions, incomplete labels, illegible expiration dates, etc.
In the words of the press conference speakers, the consumer can never be sure that he/she does not buy expired goods.
