Dosturian: Public transport service level will not rise

Taxi fares will also increase after the rise in fixed-route minibus fares, the chairman of Civil Position NGO Gevorg Dosturian said at a meeting with journalists today.

At the same time, according to him, the service level will not improve. “Drivers have to fulfill a plan. They work so much that they could earn at least something at the end of the working day. Yet it is necessary that drivers receive wages of, say, 150 thousand AMD,” the NGO chairman said.

In his words, two drivers should operate the same car alternately. “Drivers of public transport currently work 15-16 hours per shift,” he noted.
