‘Why issue of sums from advertising vehicles is not discussed?’

The 100 dram action staged today is a mechanism of struggle, Chairman of Well-Informed and Protected Consumer BGO Babken Pipoyan said at the meeting with journalists today, when discussing the increase in the public transport fares.

According to him, the figures and reasons presented by the Yerevan municipality to the public do not correspond to reality and are misleading.

“The regrettable thing is not only that prices have risen, but also that we have management problems. Professional management would allow to ensure civil transport services by charging 100 drams and to transfer the profit to the state budget and use it in the interests of consumers,” he said, adding that the transport problem should be regulated by the state.

By the way, Pipoyan wondered why the issue of sums received from advertisement of means of transport and stops is not discussed. In his words, this will allow subsidizing public transportation.
