Activist: Number of those paying 150 AMD declines 50% in two days
The number of passengers paying the increased bus fare of 150 drams declined by almost 50% within two days, activist of ‘I Won’t Pay 150 Drams’ initiative Arsen Ohanian told Aysor.am.
“I spoke to several bus drivers yesterday and this data was presented by them. I should say that drivers are inclined to go on strike. They also suffer from the increase in the public transport fare because the illegal so called “daily tax” has grown and drivers cannot pay it when passengers refuse to pay their bus fares,” Arsen Ohanian said, adding that drivers of bus No.4 have already gone on strike near the Opera House.
“People’s activity is gradually growing. Not only youths, but also elderly people join us. 200 people took part in the gathering in Mashtots Park and it was an inspiring fact. The number of activists has increased so much that we don’t know many of them by sight,” Arsen Ohanian said, once again urging citizens to pay 100 AMD.
