Karen Andreasian addresses three questions to Yerevan mayor

Human Rights Defender Karen Andreasian sent today an official letter with three questions to Yerevan mayor Taron Margarian, the press service of Armenia’s HRD reports. The letter particularly reads:

1. “An increase in city transport fares is possible only in case of a decision of Yerevan Mayor. Did you sign such a decision and publish it in a manner stipulated by law? If you didn’t, is it not obvious that such a decision without its proper publication does not exist legally?

2. Will all the transport companies to have raised transport fares without the mayor’s decision be held responsible?

3. If the operating transport companies submitted a request to increase the transport fare, is not necessary to hold a new tender, in which new companies proposing to use a fare of 100 AMD are likely to participate?”
