Minister: Inter-regional fares may increase by negligibly small amount

The republican and inter-regional bus fares may also increase, but only by a negligibly small amount, Minister of Transport and Communication Gagik Beglarian said during a briefing with reporters at the government today.

“There are approximately 170 bus routes in Armenia, and only 7-8 of them will raise the prices of their services by 12%”, Beglarian said, adding the rest will not raise their fares for the benefit of the people.

The minister refused to answer any questions about city transport fares.

“Don’t ask me questions that come within the competence of the municipality so that provocative reports will not appear later in the press,” G. Beglarian noted.
