First shipment of Belarusian tractors arrives in Armenia

In the performance of an agreement between the presidents of Armenia and Belarus, an arranagment was reached between Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan and his Belarusian counterpart Mikhail Myasnikovich during Tigran Sargsyan’s visit to Belarus on May 31, 2013 that Belarus will supply 300 tractors at cost price to Armenia.

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, accompanied by Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetian, visited today Nurnus community in Kotayk province to familiarize himself with the first shipment of ‘Belarus’ tractors imported into Armenia by Small and Medium Entrepreneurship Development National Center of Armenia (SME DNC), according to the government press service.

The prime minister inquired about technical characteristics of the purchased tractors and personally tested one.

Then, in the prime minister’s presence, a first agreement on purchase of a tractor was signed between SME DNC Director Varazdat Karapetian and resident of Azatan community of Shirak province Khosrov Baghdasarian. The buyer gave preference to the tractor driven by the prime minister and expressed his thanks for provision of agricultural machinery at affordable prices.
