Armen Gevorgian discusses airport re-launch program in Kapan

Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgian, who is on a working visit to Syunik province, has familiarized himself today with the current programs and problems in the regional center of Kapan, according to the press service of Ministry of Territorial Administration.

In the morning A. Gevorgian went to the building site of Kapan senior school # 2. 720 million AMD was allocated from the state budget for the school’s construction. Construction work of 450 million AMD has already been done. It is planned to complete construction in a year and the school will open on September 1, 2014.

The deputy prime minister then held a consultation in the regional administration with participation of mayors of Kapan, Goris, Sisian, and Agarak and officials of the administration to discuss the programs being implemented and the urgent problems.

The issue of re-launching Kapan airport was examined together with representatives of Armenia’s Main Department of Civil Aviation. The sector’s representatives presented the program of Kapan airport’s re-launch.

Armen Gevorgian stressed the importance of operating the airport for the province’s residents, saying that the Armenian president has given instructions regarding the program.

An agreement was reached that the regional governor will discuss the program with businessmen of Syunik province and the final calculations and proposals will be submitted to the government in September.
