Body of 63-year-old found in lift shaft

Information was received at 1:09 pm on August 29 that the body of a man was found in the lift shaft of building 37 on Israelian Street in Yerevan, according to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

A crew of the ministry’s special rescue detachment was sent to the scene. Rescuers retrieved the body of H.A., 63, who lived in the indicated apartment building.

The lift is included in the register of hazardous objects of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. It underwent a routine safety test on December 10, 2012.

A commission has been set up to conduct a technical examination. The commission is led by the head of the lift testing unit D. Aghajanian. The commission will submit conclusions within four days.
