Manucharian: Armenia must defend Syrian Armenians
In Armenia a system of government, which has nothing to do with real governance, has formed. Member of Karabakh Committee Ashot Manucharian expressed that opinion at a meeting with journalists today.
“Just a group of people reaches agreements with certain forces and some issues are solved this way,” Manucharian said.
He also commented on the developments in Syria, noting that Armenia’s dependence concerning a number of issues has been clearly displayed in this case.
“If Armenia were an independent state, it would defend Syrian Armenians, even break off its relations with the U.S.”, Manucharian noted.
He ruled out the possibility that Azerbaijan may take advantage of the crisis in Syria and launch hostilities in the Nagorno Karabakh Republic.
“I think in such a situation Azerbaijan will have other – much more serious – concerns than those in Armenia,” Ashot Manucharian said.
