John Heffern follows peaceful rallies in Armenia

U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern told reporters today he follows attentively peaceful rallies in Armenia and welcomes their participants.

According to the U.S. ambassador, peaceful rallies are important for democracy development. He positively assessed the actions of activists and policemen, saying that the police have shown restraint with respect to rally participants.

In his words, there have been some incidents during protest actions. He noted the that U.S. embassy is following the developments attentively and continues cooperation with Armenia’s Police and National Security Service to achieve positive momentum.
