‘Document not stemming from country’s interests discussed with Europe’

Despite Armenia’s long work on signing an Association Agreement with the European Union, only after a statement about joining the Customs Union was made in Moscow, it became clear that the process of signing the Association Agreement has been ruined, the member of HAK faction Nikol Pashinian said today in the parliament, when speaking about the decision about entry into the Customs Union.

“So it turns out that the Armenian authorities have for four years discussed with Europe a document which did not stem from Armenia’s interest and then in Moscow Serzh Sargsyan realized that the Association Agreement with the EU did not stem from Armenia’s interest,” Pashinian noted.

He stressed the necessity to understand the meaning of joining the Customs Union and participation in the formation of the Eurasian Community: “I am convinced that no one, even those backing that decision, knows answers to these questions”.
