R. Hakobian: Documents on joining Customs Union humiliating

The documents on joining the Customs Union are humiliating, and something the National Assembly is not informed about is taking place. The deputy of Heritage parliamentary faction Ruben Hakobian expressed such an opinion during an exchange of opinions at the National Assembly today.

He invited the attention of NA deputies to the fuss kicked up by the international media and social networks over the decision to join the Customs Union. “It is a crucial moment and the parliament must share responsibility,” Hakobian said. He proposed discussing urgently the document on joining the Customs Union.

According to him, there is no need to ‘divide forces into pro-government and pro-opposition ones. It is a nation-wide issue and we should discuss it jointly”.

The parliamentary speaker Hovik Abrahamian explained that the document’s terms will be discussed in the National Assembly. He repeated that nothing secret is being done.

H. Abrahamian said that the Armenian president together with the forces supporting him discussed the issue and took a decision, and “time will come when this document comes to the National Assembly and each deputy expresses his/her opinion”.

“We say that we will continue all reforms envisaged at the initial stage with the European Union,” the parliamentary speaker said in conclusion.
