Serzh Sargsyan presents awards on Independence Day
In connection with the 22nd anniversary of Armenia’s independence, President Serzh Sargsyan signed a decree on conferment of highest state awards, honorary titles and military ranks on members of the Diaspora, representatives of science, education, healthcare, economy, culture and arts, servicemen of the Armed Forces and members of law enforcement agencies.
During an official ceremony in the presidential residence, Serh Sargsyan presented awards to the persons who made a significant contribution to various spheres.
Congratulating those present on Independence Day, the Armenian president said that a high state award is not only a pleasant fact, but also great responsibility. “You assume great responsibility. You will be held up as an example of a worthy person who rendered great services to the homeland and the Armenian nation,” S. Sargsyan said.
He stressed that the state becomes stronger thanks to people whose work gives renewed impetus to state institutions and society.
The head of the state noted that among those who received awards are representatives of all strata of society. “This shows once again that in all the spheres, we have people who are committed to their jobs and have a clear civic stand and great professional potential,” Serzh Sargsyan said.
The president again congratulated the recipients, expressing hope that conscientious work and achievements of all Armenian citizens will be appreciated.
