Vladimir Putin sends congratulations on Armenia’s Independence Day

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin congratulated Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and all citizens of the republic on the national holiday – Independence Day.

“In his congratulatory message, the head of the Russian state highly appreciated Armenia’s achievements in solution of urgent problems of socioeconomic, scientific-technical and cultural development, also noting the republic’s increased authority in international affairs,” said the press service of the Kremlin.

V. Putin stressed that “Russian-Armenian relations, which have deep historical roots, have risen to the level of strategic partnership and continue developing intensively, which was in particular confirmed by the outcome of Serzh Sargsyan’s recent visit to Moscow”.

“Besides, the Russian president expressed confidence that by making joint efforts, the states will ensure the further strengthening of bilateral ties and the extension of constructive cooperation in various multilateral formats, including in the context of Armenia’s entry into the Customs Union, which is undoubtedly in the interest of the friendly peoples of the two countries,” the Kremlin’s press service reported.
