NKR parliament speaker receives Canadian MP

Speaker of the National Assembly of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Ashot Ghulian received member of the Canadian parliament, former leader of the Liberal Party of Canada Stephane Dion who arrived in Stepanakert for a one-day familiarization trip.

“I am glad to meet one of the influential members of the Canadian parliament and an active politician who had a key part in the recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the federal legislative body. We consider it important that our colleagues from parliaments of various countries be well-informed about Artsakh by becoming acquainted with the situation on the spot,” Ashot Ghulian stated.

In his words, such contacts could become a prerequisite for the establishment of ties between the parliaments of Canada and Nagorno Karabakh.

“I want to learn more about your country and people in order to share that information with my colleagues,” Stephane Dion said.
