NKR president receives Venezuelan diocese primate

President of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakian received Primate of the Venezuelan Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Archbishop Komitas Ohanian, the press service of the NKR president reported.

Issues related to the relations between the state and the church, the socioeconomic situation in Artsakh, and regional developments were discussed at the meeting, in which Primate of the Artsakh Diocese Archbishop Pargev Martirosian also participated.

Bako Sahakian stressed the important role of the Armenian Apostolic Church in the preservation of the national identity in the Diaspora, underlining the significant contribution of the church to assistance to Artsakh.

Both sides stressed the need for further deepening of the relationship between the state and the church, considering it as an important basis of Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora trinity.
