1,090 elderly people live in Armenia’s old people’s homes

Elderly people make up 12.1% of Armenia’s population. Aysor.am was informed by Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs that 60% of elderly citizens are women. 1,090 elderly people currently live in old people’s homes of Armenia.

By standards of the World Health Organization, people aged between 65 and 75 are considered elderly. In Armenia, the average life expectancy is 73-74 years.
