NKR president: For us, there is not return to the past

President of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakian participated today in the international conference entitled ‘The National Liberation Struggle of Artsakh: From Gyulistan to the Present Day’ held in Stepanakert, the press service of the NKR President said.

In his speech, Bako Sahakian stressed the importance of such international scientific events for in-depth understanding of the Artsakh problem, comprehensive analysis of regional processes, and more accurate prediction of the possible scenarios of developments.

In his words, the Armenian people’s aspiration to live independently and restore the national statehood was one of the longest national liberation movements in universal history, while their strategic super task consisted in the restoration of a free, sovereign and strong state and ensuring its development and strengthening.

When discussing the current stage of state building in Artsakh, Bako Sahakian stated that for the people of the NKR, there is no return to the past, and the republic’s independence and security are exceptional values which are not subject to bargaining.
