Yerevan hosts international conference of CE capital cities’ mayors

An international conference of mayors of capital cities of the Council of Europe member states took place in Yerevan today. The event was organized by Yerevan Municipality in cooperation with the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the CE, as part of Armenia’s Chairmanship of the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers.

Yerevan Mayor Taron Margarian thanked President of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities Herwig van Staa for the assistance with the organization of the conference, according to the press service of Yerevan Municipality.

Vice President of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities John Warmisham delivered a speech, in which he discussed management models of big cities, problems facing all capital cities and their solutions. Speeches were also made by Chairman of the City Council of Riga Nil Ushakov, Tbilisi Mayor Gigi Ugulava, member of Yerevan Council of Elders Tigran Barseghian and others.
