US ambassador thanks civic activists

U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John A. Heffern thanked civic activists for their presence at the Yerevan forum on the struggle against discrimination, xenophobia and intolerance in Europe.

The ambassador thanked civic activists for their presence at the event – via Twitter. At the forum held as part of Armenia’s chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, the participants discussed problems of racism and xenophobia, and the struggle against manifestations of hatred and racial stereotypes.

The activists protested against manifestations of intolerance in Armenia. They entered the hall during the speech of Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Naldandian.
