Wording of Europarliament resolution contradicts EU’s official position

The wording concerning the Karabakh conflict in the European Parliament’s recent resolution on Eastern Partnership contradicts the official position of the European Union and the approaches of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharian said, when responding to a question of News.am.

“Despite the fact that the above mentioned resolution is non-binding, nevertheless, regardless of motivations of the authors of the wording, they should understand that they bear responsibility for its possible negative impact on the negotiation process and damage to the efforts of the Co-Chairs aimed at the peaceful settlement of the conflict,” the deputy foreign minister said.
