Aghvan Vardanian on arrest of sports minister’s son

“It is wrong to make party assessments about father-son relations. Each person should decide for himself what to do,” the secretary of ARFD parliamentary faction Aghvan Vardanian said during the parliamentary briefing today when commenting on the arrest of sports and youth affairs minister’s son on drug smuggling charges.

‘It is a moral and psychological issue and there is no need to interfere. I think resignation is a private matter of the minister, while the public should express their opinions only after that,” he noted.

Asked if the minister would resign if he was a member of ARF-Dashanktsutyun, Aghvan Vardanian said: “Such things have never happened to ARFD members”.
