Serzh Sargsyan takes part in film festival’s opening ceremony
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan attended today the opening ceremony of Youth Potential film festival of U.S. documentaries in the Moscow Cinema of Yerevan. The festival started with the screening of the Brooklyn Fortress film about a team of young chess players in a Brooklyn school, NYC. The film shows that the passion for chess helps the children overcome all difficulties and reinforces their confidence in their own abilities – in the belief that if they can play well the most difficult game in the world, they can achieve more.
Prior to the film, the president watched the final part of a chess tournament held on the stage of the Red Hall of Moscow Cinema, according to the presidential press service. Members of Armenia’s national chess team conducted a game of multi-board chess with kids.
During the event, awards were given to the winners of the essay competition “My teacher is my source of inspiration”.
