No decision on Sefilian citizenship due to absence of another application

During the discussion of the 2014 draft state budget today, the leader of Heritage parliamentary faction Zaruhi Postanjian asked the Chief of Armenian President’s Staff, Vigen Sargsyan, how the increase in his salary will raise his work efficiency.

In the words of V. Sargsyan, he doesn’t believe that an increase in his salary will expand his powers. “It is obvious that salaries solve the problem of hiring qualified personnel and there is nothing wrong in raising the salaries of specialists in a number of spheres,” Vigen Sargsyan said.

Z. Postanjian asked why Zhirayr Sefilian, a hero of the Karabakh war, has not been granted Armenian citizenship.

“After being denied citizenship, Mr. Sefilian has not applied again. He didn’t file another application and for that reason a decision on granting citizenship to him was not made. The Staff will act as quickly as possible and will take a decision in case of another application,” V. Sargsyan said.
