Isakov-Leningradian road passes via parking area of Demirchian SCC

A section of the highway linking Isakov Avenue and Leningradian Street in Yerevan will pass through the parking area of the Sport and Concert Complex after K. Demirchian. The project is being implemented without the agreement of the owner – the Sport and Concert Complex after Demirchian (SCC), according to the press service of SCC.

According to the source, Yerevan Municipality says that this option requires less investment, as a result of which the municipality takes possession of part of the SCC area.

On October 28 the architects of the SCC – A. Azizian, H. Poghosian and G. Musheghian applied to the Yerevan mayor, proposing to suspend construction work in the indicated transport node.

The architects said in a statement that the important measure to regulate the traffic flow in Yerevan can be endangered due to an accidental omission.

“We propose that a design organization be assigned to develop alternative versions of he transport node and submit them to the urban development council of the Municipality for discussion. We are prepared to cooperate for a speedy resolution of the problem,” the statement reads.
